The Traffic and Parking Operations of the Public Works – Maintenance Services Division is responsible for the refurbishment of markings and striping for traffic lanes, traffic safety lines and stencils, and curb markings on over 350 miles of roadways, as well as installing and/or repairing street and traffic safety signs in compliance with Caltrans standards and regulations. The Traffic and Parking section maintains and collects from over 742 city-owned parking meters, ensuring timely maintenance, collection, and repairs.
As support services for citywide departments and events, the division assists with delineating traffic and crowd control.
