Project Location

Funding Sources
The project is funded with Measure M and R, Gas Tax and Sewer Fund monies.
Scope of Work
- Sewer Improvements
- Reconstruction of curb and gutters, alley aprons, driveways and sidewalks
- Pavement replacement
- ADA-compliant curb ramps
- Intersection realignment
- Removal of a travel lane in each direction, addition of a center two-way left turn lane, and installation of new protected bicycle lanes and buffered bicycle lanes
- Traffic signal and fiber optic improvements
- Installation of bio-retention facilities
- Reflective pavement installation
- Installation of new traffic signing and striping, including creative crosswalks
- Tree planting

Construction Schedule
The La Crescenta Avenue Rehabilitation Project has completed full corridor paving ahead of schedule, with work finished on April 30, 2026. Final project activities will continue through May, beginning with traffic signal modifications the week of May 4.
During the week of May 11th, crews set up the proposed striping configuration. Temporary markings will maintain two lanes in each direction to keep traffic moving.
Final striping was scheduled for May 18th, installing one travel lane in each direction with a center two-way turn lane. This work will be completed using rolling traffic control, allowing traffic to flow as crews move along the corridor. Message boards will be updated to alert drivers to the new lane configuration.
All scheduled work is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions. Construction is expected to be completed by July 2026.
Tentative Construction Schedule:
• May 2026: Installation of Street Signs & Striping including bike lanes
• June 2026: Installation of decorative crosswalks at signalized intersections and reflective pavement on Paloma Avenue and other punch list items
Traffic Impacts
During the construction period, detours, intermittent lane closures, and traffic delays are expected on the following streets:

La Crescenta Avenue: Travel lanes may be closed intermittently between 5/18/2026 thru 6/18/2026 (excludes weekends and holidays)
• La Crescenta Avenue from Verdugo Rd to Montrose Ave: One travel lane may be closed intermittently between 5/11/2026 thru 5/22/2026 (excludes weekends and holidays)
• Paloma Avenue from La Crescenta Ave to Downing Ave: Travel lanes may be closed intermittently between 6/15/2026 thru 6/16/2026 (excludes weekends and holidays)
• La Crescenta Avenue at Shirlyjean St, Roselawn Ave, Oakmont View Dr, and Piedmont Ave: Travel lanes may be closed intermittently between 6/17/2026 thru 6/18/2026 (excludes weekends and holidays)
Description of Work
• Contractor will perform preparatory work for traffic signals.
• Contractor will perform work for roadway striping and signage.
• Contractor will perform work for installation of reflective pavement.
• Contractor will perform work for installation of decorative crosswalks.
