Construction Schedule

Construction start date is June 5, 2014 and project is anticipated to be completed by November 2014, barring adverse weather conditions.

Construction Update/Next Phase

The next phase will be the pavement rehabilitation phase. The contractor will remove a portion of the existing pavement and install brand new pavement. The removals will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. New asphalt pavement will be installed in two layers, with each layer taking up a separate day. This will take place on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11,  2014.

Traffic will be impacted, with intermittent lane closures to accommodate the construction vehicles as they navigate through the intersection. During the new pavement install on Wednesday and Thursday, portions of the intersection will be coned off for 2-3 hours to allow the pavement to dry, as this is normal practice. The entire intersection will not be closed however, to allow for flow through traffic at all times.

Scope of Work

• Traffic signal upgrades and modifications
• Installation of new striping and pavement markings
• Realignment of roadway and travel lanes
• Reconstruction of sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, and center islands
• Construction of Portland Cement Concrete ADA curb ramps
• Reconstruction of asphalt concrete pavement
