America’s 250th Birthday at the Adult Recreation Center

Event Details: The City of Glendale's Community Services & Parks Department, Senior Services Section, is hosting a special celebration of America's 250th Birthday on Thursday, July 2, 2026, for the seniors who are part of the Elderly Nutrition Program at the Adult Recreation Center.
They are looking forward to celebrating this historic milestone with an afternoon filled with patriotic fun, delicious food, and festive entertainment. Participants will enjoy an all-American menu featuring burgers, apple pie, and red, white, and blue ice cream pops, along with live entertainment, themed activities, and much more.
We honor 250 years of American history, community, and independence while wishing the United States a very happy birthday!
Alex Theatre Open House & Film Screening

Event Details: Celebrate America's 250th Birthday at the Historic Alex Theatre!
Join us for a free community celebration honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States. The festivities begin with an Open House from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, featuring opportunities to explore the historic Alex Theatre, learn about its century-long legacy as Glendale's cultural landmark, and enjoy special activities commemorating this historic milestone.
At 4:00 PM, enjoy a free screening of Disney's National Treasure (2004). Starring Nicolas Cage, this thrilling adventure follows historian and treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates as he embarks on a quest to uncover a legendary treasure hidden by America's Founding Fathers. Filled with clues drawn from American history, iconic landmarks, and the nation's founding documents, National Treasure is a fun and exciting celebration of the stories, symbols, and ideals that have shaped the United States.
As America marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, communities across the country are reflecting on the nation's history, achievements, and enduring spirit. We invite you to join friends, family, and neighbors for an afternoon of discovery, entertainment, and civic celebration as we honor both our nation's past and its future.

Free Pool Party at Pacific Community Pool

Event Details: Make a splash this Independence Day at Pacific Community Park Pool! Join the City of Glendale for an afternoon of swimming, sunshine, and summer fun. Cool off in the pool, enjoy delicious food, and celebrate the holiday with friends and family.
As an added bonus, the first 100 attendees will receive free admission tickets to the Crescenta Valley Fireworks Show at Crescenta Valley High School. Gates for the fireworks event open at 4:00 PM, with the show lighting up the sky at 9:00 PM.
Crescenta Valley Fireworks Show

Location: Crescenta Valley High School Field: 2900 Community Avenue, La Crescenta, CA 91214
Event Details: Enjoy an in-person fireworks show on the field at Crescenta Valley High School. The main entrance is located off Ramsdell Avenue, with gates opening at 4:00 PM. and the fireworks display beginning at 9:00 PM.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to spread blankets on the field (chairs are not permitted), enjoy a variety of food trucks, listen to live music, and take part in family-friendly carnival games and activities. For more information visit click here.
24th Annual Old Town Montrose Car Show
Date: July 5, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: 2200, 2300, and 2400 block of Honolulu Avenue in Montrose
Event Details: The Montrose Car Show is now in its 24th year, attracting thousands of area residents as well as automobile aficionados from all over southern California to the Montrose Shopping Park.
The Show consists of about 350 cars (Hot Rods, Classics, Exotics and Trucks) and antique motorcycles. We encourage you to come and view the cars and feel free to ask any questions of the vehicle owners.
Award ceremonies are held at 1:15PM.
Vehicles will be on display in the 2200, 2300, and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Ave. along with our Sunday Harvest Market from 9:00AM until 2:00PM located at the west end of the Shopping Park. Motorcycles will be on display in the parking lot at 2351 Honolulu Ave.
Shop, eat and play all day! Many stores will be open and some will be offering special items and discounts that day as well as participating in our annual Sidewalk Sale. For more information click here.
