In 2023, the California State Legislature authorized a speed safety camera pilot program for six designated cities, the City of Glendale being one of them. Speed safety cameras are a proven tool to address excessive speeding and reduce severe and fatal traffic collisions. With the passage of AB 645, Glendale will be able to use this technology to slow down speeding vehicles on our streets.
Impact Report
The Impact Report includes the assessment of the potential impact on civil liberties, the recommended Speed Safety System locations, and how the city collaborated with relevant local stakeholder organizations. The report also includes fiscal costs, encompassing program establishment, ongoing expenses, and funding sources. The Impact Report is available for public review and comment.

Use Policy
The Speed Safety System Use Policy intends to promote transparency, accountability, and public trust in the use of automated enforcement technology. This Policy outlines the operational guidelines, data handling procedures, and measures to protect individual privacy rights. It also includes protocols for violation notification, the process for contesting violations, outlines data retention schedules, specifies conditions for public access, and regulates third-party data.
