Landscape Transformation Program
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) is offering incentives to residents and businesses to get rid of turf grass. Through their Landscape Transformation program, you can receive $1.00 per square foot for replacing your water guzzling grass with CA Native Plants. All Glendale customers must meet the requirements below:
- Residents must follow regulations set forth in Glendale’s Zoning Ordinance. Landscaping requirements can be found in Chapter 30.31 – Landscaping. For questions about zoning call the Glendale Planning Division at (818) 548-2140.
- Customers participating in this program allow GWP to publicize the pre-and post-conversion project photographs. Addresses will not be published.
- Parkways should be landscaped with plants not exceeding a height of 4 inches. It is unlawful to pave, brick or cover the parkway area without first obtaining an encroachment permit from the Department of Public Works.
- Customers are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, codes, policies, covenants, conditions, and restrictions.
