Welcome from the Fire Chief
Welcome to the official website of the Glendale Fire Department. We are honored to serve the vibrant and diverse communities of Glendale, protecting lives, property, and the environment.
Glendale is home to nearly 200,000 residents across 30.6 square miles. Every day, our Class 1-rated Fire Department operates around the clock to ensure your safety. We have nine strategically located fire stations. More than 240 sworn and civilian professionals are ready to respond, with at least 50 on duty every hour.
In 2024, we answered 22,091 calls for service. Every Glendale fire engine has at least two firefighter-paramedics. This ensures advanced life support arrives quickly. Our Verdugo Fire Communications Center serves Glendale and 14 regional partners. Last year, it received 175,906 phone calls and dispatched 98,127 emergency incidents. Verdugo Fire Communications Center met California’s under-15-second answering time standard 97.3 % of the time.
