Neighborhood Services works closely with property owners and the community to ensure the properties are kept up to code. Below are before and after photos of selected cases.


   

   

This property had numerous violations as evident from the before photos. This individual had a very dangerous situation with pack rat conditions. Piles of junk and debris had been filling every room of the property to the point that it was a fire hazard as well as an infestation problem. Neighborhood Services staff was able to work with the owner to bring the property into compliance within a one week period.


   

Violation: Deteriorated paint to the exterior trim and siding.

Code Section: BSC.V5.1001.8

Buildings or portions thereof shall be considered substandard when they have faulty weather protection.

   

Violation: Accumulation of junk and /or debris throughout the interior of the house.

Code Section: BSC.V5.1001.2(13)

Any building, structure or portions thereof shall be deemed substandard when there exists any general dilapidation or improper maintenance.

Code Section:BSC.V5.1001.2(15)

Any building, structure or portions thereof shall be deemed substandard when there exists a lack of adequate garbage and rubbish storage facilities.


   

Violation: Deteriorated and /or damaged exterior doors on the garage and house.

Code Section: BSC.V5.1001.8(2)

Buildings or portions thereof shall be deemed substandard when there exists deteriorated or ineffective waterproofing of exterior walls, roof, foundations or floors, including broken windows and doors.


   

Violation: Junk and debris throughout the exterior or side rear of property.

Code Section: GMC.8.32.050

The owner or person in control of any private property shall at all times maintain the premises free of litter, junk and debris.
