Duties

The Design Review Board reviews building plans concerning site plan and design issues prior to issuance of building permits for projects larger than those which have statutory exemption.

Membership

Initial term correlates with Nominating Council Members term - 4-year term thereafter

Terms coterminous with Nominating Council Member’s term.

• Five members on each board
• Four year term
• Two term limit
• No compensation

Qualifications

At least one (1) member of the design review board shall be a licensed architect. Other members of the board shall be persons who, as a result of their training, experience and attainments are qualified to analyze and interpret architectural and site planning information, including, but not limited to, licensed landscape architects, urban planners, engineers and builders/developers. Each member of the design review board shall be a qualified elector of the city at the time of appointment and during incumbency. Elected officials may not serve on the board. Active board members are not allowed to serve on more than one board/commission/committee (as defined in Title 2 of the Glendale Municipal Code) at the same time.
