Alek Bartrosouf is a proud child of Armenian immigrants and a lifelong Glendale resident. He grew up near Maple Park in South Glendale and has lived in several Glendale neighborhoods before moving to his current home in Northwest Glendale.
Alek earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles. As an urban planner, his professional career has focused on transportation planning, government relations, constituent services, and public policy for government agencies and nonprofit organizations.
In addition to his professional career, Alek has served Glendale through multiple City commissions, including the Transportation & Parking Commission and the Sustainability Commission. At the age of 22, he helped establish the Monterey Road Community Gardens and has worked alongside City staff and elected officials on transportation, sustainability, and neighborhood planning initiatives.
In his free time, Alek enjoys gardening, bicycling, and exploring Glendale's local restaurants with his husband, Alex.
