Project Scope:

The project involves replacing the existing playground at Wilson Mini Park, originally installed in 2008.  This replacement will include a new poured-in-place (PIP) safety surfacing and upgraded play elements that provide enhanced accessibility, as well as expanded sensory and imaginative play opportunities. The new design will also feature integrated shade structures to improve comfort and usability.

Budget:

The project is funded with $300,000 in Measure A Grant funds through Los Angeles County's Regional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD).

About Measure A

Measure A is a local funding program administered by RPOSD to support improvements in local parks, open spaces, and recreation facilities across Los Angeles County. The program was created following a comprehensive Countywide Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment (PNA), which identified and prioritized areas with the greatest need for park investments. Measure A funds are intended to support projects that enhance community health, promote safe and inclusive spaces, protect natural resources, and expand access to parks.

At the meeting, the Commission will consider a motion recommending City Council approval of the community’s preferred design. Staff will continue to work closely with the selected vendor to refine the design and incorporate recommended additions or adjustments."
