City of Glendale Hosts 40th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Event

Glendale, CA – The City of Glendale is proud to announce its 40th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, an event that brings the community together to celebrate the joy, warmth, and generosity of the holiday season. This cherished tradition will take place on December 3rd, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in Perkins Plaza at City Hall.

The evening will feature a dazzling 32-foot holiday tree, adorned with over 500 ornaments and 8,500 sparkling lights, beautifully prepared by Glendale’s Public Works team, as well as tiny villages nestled beneath the trees throughout the plaza by Glendale’s Community Services and Parks department. Attendees can look forward to musical and dance performances from local schools and community groups, including Mark Keppel Elementary School, Toll Middle School, Revolution Dance Studio, and a special visit from Santa Claus, assisted by Girl Scout Troop 2571.

“This tree lighting is about more than lights and decorations—it’s about neighbors coming together and feeling at home in Glendale,” said Glendale Mayor Ara Najarian. “Reaching the 40-year milestone shows just how meaningful this tradition is to our community.”

For those unable to attend in person, Glendale TV will record the event and share it across multiple platforms, so residents can experience the holiday cheer from home.
