Glendale to Host the 2025 Southern California Open Chess Tournament
Glendale, CA — The City of Glendale is proud to serve as the host city for the Southern California Open Chess Tournament, taking place August 29 – September 1, 2025, at the Embassy Suites in Glendale. With over $50,000 in prize funds, the tournament is open to players of all levels, from beginners to grandmasters.
Organized by dot818, the Southern California Chess Federation and the American Chess Academy, this event is expected to draw chess enthusiasts and master-level players from across the nation.
With its deep-rooted chess culture and a local community of players, Glendale is proud to carry the tradition forward and host this championship. The event will feature multiple competitive sections, including master, expert, and amateur divisions.
