On May 20, 2020, just after 9:00 PM, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of West Chevy Chase and San Fernando Rd.
A male was seen standing in front of a taco stand when an unidentified attacker approached from behind and fired multiple shots at the victim.
Upon arrival, officers noticed a male down in the middle of San Fernando Rd and began life saving measures until the fire department arrived on scene. Unfortunately, the male later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Officers were alerted that a juvenile male had been brought to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. The juvenile appeared to be a bystander, and is expected to recover.
The suspect fled in an unknown sedan prior to officers’ arrival, but was described as a male, unknown race, and wearing dark clothing.
