Glendale Police Department Assists GUSD with Meal Distribution

Glendale, CA—On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, Glendale Police personnel reported bright and early to Glendale High School in order to assist with Glendale Unified Schools District’s (GUSD) Grab and Go/ Drive Up Service.

In an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19, GUSD closed their campuses and transitioned to an online learning system. In their mission to put students first, GUSD continues to provide both breakfast and lunch to all children ages 18 and younger. Additionally, GUSD is providing Chromebooksto students who do not have access to computers at home so they may continue their studies online.

The administrative staff and cafeteria workers were delighted to see members of GPD volunteer to continue their efforts in providing for students in this stressful time. The Glendale Police Department will continue sending officers to assist in the distribution of healthy foods to students and assist them in gaining access to their scholastic resources.
