Man Arrested for Multiple Vehicle Burglaries
On December 4, 2019, Detectives from the Glendale Police Department’s Burglary Unit arrested 30 year old Sevak Vardumyan after an investigation that tied him to several vehicle burglaries in Glendale, Burbank, and Los Angeles.
On November 24, 2019, the Glendale Police Department took a report from a man that had his car broken into and several items were taken. The incident was caught by a security camera and images of a suspect were captured. These images were disseminated to other police officers in the department and one officer recognized the suspect as Sevak Vardumyan. The officer had previous contacts with Mr. Vardumyan; and therefore, immediately recognized him. Based on this information, the detectives conducted an investigation and were able to establish enough probable cause to obtain a court ordered search warrant for Mr. Vardumyan’s residence.
The search warrant resulted in the discovery of evidence that tied Mr. Vardumyan to multiple other vehicle burglaries in Glendale and neighboring cities. The detectives also found several items of evidence that linked Mr. Vardumyan to identity theft.
Mr. Vardumyan, a resident of Glendale, was arrested and charged with vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property, and identity theft.
Also arrested on December 4, 2019, was Sevak’s sister, 24 year old Linda Vardumyan. Both siblings reside at the home that was searched. Ms. Vardumyan was charged with obstructing officers and destruction of evidence when she threw evidence of Mr. Vardumyan’s crime out of a second story window.
