Glendale Library Offers Access to over 500 Lifelong Learning Courses through Universal Class

GLENDALE—Glendale Library, Arts & Culture is pleased to introduce a new way to pursue continuing education and lifelong learning through Universal Class. This online learning platform features over 500 courses in over 30 subject areas, including Parenting and Family, Business and Career, and Office Skills training. Library users may access Universal Class with their library card at http://bit.ly/GLACUniversalClass. The Top 10 Universal Class courses based on user enrollment include:

  • Excel and Advanced Excel 2016 
  • Typing and Keyboarding 101 
  • Accounting & Bookkeeping 101 for Everyone 
  • Basic Math 101 
  • Writing Basics 101: Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation, Writing Structures 
  • Microsoft Word 2016 
  • Anatomy and Physiology 101 
  • Medical Terminology 101 
  • Investing 101: Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds

Coursework is completely self-paced, secure, private, and saved as you learn. Users may take up to five courses at a time and  up to six months to complete a course. Most courses work can be completed in 10-20 hours. Additional popular courses include a wide variety of topics such as drawing and digital photography, nutrition, aromatherapy, creating webpages, interview skills, Buddhism, building children’s reading skills, alternative medicine, project management, and home decoration.
