Glendale Unified Students Celebrate International Walk to School Day

GLENDALE, CA – On Wednesday, October 2, Glendale Unified elementary and middle school students will join students from around the world in celebrating International Walk to School Day. Thousands of Glendale Unified students will walk along with parents, teachers, and district and community leaders to demonstrate the benefits of safely walking to and from school.

Glendale Unified School District Walk to School Day is coordinated in partnership with the City of Glendale and Safe Moves, a non-profit organization recognized as the leading authority in traffic safety education in the country. The event is designed to promote health and wellness, teach students safe walking skills, and remind adults to drive safely in school zones.

Start times and meeting locations vary by school. See below for further information about designated media schools.

Walk to School Day Media Schools

Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School
Meeting Time: 7:45 a.m.
Location: Verdugo Park, main entrance

R.D. White Elementary School
Meeting Time: 7:30 a.m.
Meeting Location: Corner of Doran and Kenwood Streets
