GLENDALE, CA: Entrepreneurs with startup ideas who are looking for insight into the fundraising landscape and established businesspersons are invited to attend Tech on Tap on Wednesday June 26 from 5pm to 7pm at the Antaeus Theatre (110 E. Broadway). This after-hours mixer will feature local tech industry leaders who will share their personal guidance on:
- Sources of investment for startups
- How to get into an accelerator or an incubator
- Preparing for meetings with investors
- Key things to communicate during a pitch
- How to communicate traction
- How investors pick the right team for projects
- Subsector trends in investment
- Public, private and grassroots organizations’ broader capacity to meet the needs of startups
Alex Maleki brings experience in sales, marketing, and law into his role as Vice President of Business Development for Idealab where he helps lead efforts on fundraising and recruiting, provides strategic guidance to entrepreneurs, and tests new ideas that can be turned into successful companies.
Miki Reynolds is the Executive Director of Grid110, an early stage startup accelerator and community development non-profit she co-founded in 2014. After managing digital projects at global entertainment corporations like MGM Studios and 20th Century Fox, and heading up operations/product for a software development startup, she launched the Downtown LA location for tech education company General Assembly..
Jonathan Wallace joined Expert Dojo upon its inception as an investment analyst. Over the course of the next 3 years he established relationships with some of the largest venture capital funds in the world and helped dozens of startups raise investment. Jonathan is now the investment director for Expert Dojo and oversees all follow on investments.
Moderator: Alex Bruno is the founder of Bruno Group Inc., a law firm that helps entrepreneurs and business owners in their growth by taking care of their legal needs from startup to exit.
