Glendale Senior Street Fest to Celebrate May as Older Americans Month

Glendale, CA – On Wednesday, May 15, the City of Glendale celebrates the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month with the 3rd Annual Senior Street Fest at the Artsakh Paseo, located between Broadway and Wilson Avenue. The two-hour street festival recognizing the contributions of older Americans begins at 10:30 a.m. and features live music, a delicious lunch, prizes, and health and wellness booths for health screenings and other resources. The City of Glendale Community Services & Parks (CSP) department organizes this annual event in cooperation with event sponsor, Adventist Health Glendale.

Pacific Ave. At the centers, senior can access legal assistance by appointment, health services, transportation services, free meals, and a case management program for residents over 60 years of age.

The Administration for Community Living in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services leads the celebration of Older Americans Month each May. The Older Americans Month theme for May 2019 is “Connect, Create, Contribute” to encourages older adults and their communities to connect with friends, family, and services that support participation; create by engaging in activities that promote learning; and contribute time, talent, and life experience to benefit others.
