AGENCIES COME TOGETHER FOR HOMELESS CONNECT DAY 

GLENDALE, Calif. – On Friday, November 9, 2018 over a dozen local private and public service providers will come together to provide information and resources to homeless persons that will facilitate obtaining services and housing. Glendale Connect Day is part of National Project Homeless Connect, a nonprofit organization that strengthens and utilizes collaborations with city agencies, businesses, organizations, and the community to provide comprehensive services through Community Day of Service events and in house continued care for those who are at risk of becoming homeless, are currently experiencing homelessness, or are transitioning from homelessness to housing.. 

On this day, cities across the country will hold one-day service events designed to connect homeless individuals and families who are not currently accessing services with local service providers. Homeless attendees will learn how to utilize available resources to address the problems contributing to their homelessness.  Among the agencies to be represented are Ascencia Glendale, The Salvation Army, Los Angeles County Department of Social Services, Social Security Administration, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Catholic Charities, YWCA of Glendale, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Glendale Police Department, and City of Glendale.  Services will include haircuts, snacks, dental screenings, medical screenings, employment referrals, and more.

The event will take place at Central Park located at 201 E. Colorado Street, in Glendale, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
