2024 Student Commissioners Recruitment Flyer

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Student Commissioner for the City of Glendale Transportation and Parking Commission. We are excited to collaborate with students who can represent the youth of Glendale and provide valuable perspectives to our work.

Ex Officio Student Commissioners are active, non-voting members of the Transportation and Parking Commission. Serving as an ex officio student commission is an opportunity for students to share their experience and perspectives in addressing transportation issues, contributing to policy discussions, and providing valuable input on the impact of transportation and parking systems on the student community.

The commission regularly meets on the fourth Monday of every other month at 6:00 pm, and attendance in person is mandatory for all meetings. Some meetings may be rescheduled to another Monday in the month, and additional, special meetings may be scheduled, as necessary.

To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • be a high school or college student,
  • reside in the City of Glendale, AND
  • be 25 years of age or younger.

Additionally, a minimum time commitment of 2 hours of meeting attendance and 2 hours of preparation, per month, and reliable transportation to and from meetings, is expected.

DEADLINE: Deadline to apply is September 16, 2024.

Other Important Dates: Please note that candidate interviews will be held in person in September or August. The term for being a Student Commissioner is one year from the date of appointment, which is anticipated to be in October 2024.
