DESCRIPTION:<p>Join us for a self-portrait workshop to celebrate the Día del Niño (Kid's Day) and honor the Latino culture of Glendale. Light refreshments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. This workshop will be taught by Abby Aceves.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ABOUT</strong></p><p>Abby Aceves (b. 1985, Nogales, Sonora, México) is a self-taught painter and interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the Superior Fashion Center Edith Martin in Jalisco, Mexico, she worked in fashion for seven years before transitioning to fine arts. Her work has been&nbsp;exhibited&nbsp;at institutions including The Cheech Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, Boathouse Gallery at Plaza de la Raza, Modern Eden, and the Consulate General of Mexico. She is a 2024–2025 Contributing Artist for the Lakers in the Paint Grant and a 2025–2026 Public Art Apprentice in the Public Artists in Development (PAiD) Program through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture.&nbsp;</p><p>This program is sponsored by REFORMA Los Angeles Chapter.</p><p>We welcome persons with disabilities to&nbsp;participate&nbsp;in all our programs and events.
