Join us for a self-portrait workshop to celebrate the Día del Niño (Kid's Day) and honor the Latino culture of Glendale. Light refreshments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. This workshop will be taught by Abby Aceves.
ABOUT
Abby Aceves (b. 1985, Nogales, Sonora, México) is a self-taught painter and interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the Superior Fashion Center Edith Martin in Jalisco, Mexico, she worked in fashion for seven years before transitioning to fine arts. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including The Cheech Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, Boathouse Gallery at Plaza de la Raza, Modern Eden, and the Consulate General of Mexico. She is a 2024–2025 Contributing Artist for the Lakers in the Paint Grant and a 2025–2026 Public Art Apprentice in the Public Artists in Development (PAiD) Program through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture.
