An Introduction to Culinary Medicine Food Preparation

Learn how to cook ingredients found at our local grocery stores to create meals that may prevent and manage chronic conditions, with a focus on pain and inflammation.

Join Integrative Health Specialist Dr. Desmonette Hazly as she explores the topic of culinary medicine. Learn the basic symptoms of some common chronic illnesses, and how foods, herbs, spices and teas may be helpful with the prevention and symptom management of these conditions.

This workshop will focus on cooking foods to help with chronic pain and inflammation, and will feature a live demonstration. Space is limited, please register to reserve your spot. 

This workshop is part of the Culinary Medicine Series, with each session covering a different topic. Participants may sign up for any workshop they are interested in, but are not required to attend them all:

  • January 21st, 11:00 AM @ Library Connection: Pain and Inflammation
  • February 11th, 5:30 PM @ Pacific Park: Heart Disease
  • February 28th, 2:00 PM @ Central Library: Nutritional Psychiatry
  • June 16th, 4:00 PM @ Grandview Library: Diabetes
