Building Playgrounds for Everyone: Join Glendale’s Inclusive Design Workshop
Play is for everyone—and Glendale’s Community Services & Parks Department is making sure of it! This November, the city is hosting a special community workshop called “Inclusion of All Sizes: Inclusive Design Strategies for Every Space, Every Budget.” The event will explore how playgrounds and public spaces can be designed so that every child, regardless of ability, feels welcome and included.
Leading the session is Dr. Ariel Mansholt, an occupational therapist with deep expertise in pediatric care and inclusive play. Dr. Mansholt will share how her background in occupational therapy bridges healthcare and playground design—offering creative, practical strategies that make inclusive play possible for every budget.
Whether you’re a parent, educator, park planner, or community advocate, this workshop is a great opportunity to learn how to create spaces where all children can play, grow, and connect together.
For more information, call (818) 548-2000. Reasonable accommodations can be arranged with 72 hours’ notice.
Let’s make play accessible for every child—because inclusion starts with design.
