We are heartbroken, grieving, and deeply concerned in the midst of ongoing fires, evacuations, and unfathomable loss. We express our sincerest condolences and sympathies to those who are navigating immeasurable destruction.
Mindful of this catastrophic natural disaster and out of an abundance of caution, we are postponing our poetry workshop-reading originally scheduled for Saturday, January 11th from 11am-2pm at the Main Auditorium of Glendale Central Library. Updated scheduling information will be announced in the coming weeks. Our sincerest thanks for the support, communication, and collaboration from California’s Poet Laureate Lee Herrick, musician Paul Sprawl, the devoted professional staff of Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, and our wonderful community of writers and stakeholders.
For now, we want to thank our firefighters, paramedics, police, medical workers, first responders, neighbors, and volunteers for their countless acts of heroism, generosity, courage, and humanity. Resources to support impacted individuals are abundant. A few starting points we can suggest are:
- Los Angeles County Emergency Response here
- City of Glendale here
- FEMA Assistance and Recovery Support here
