Verdugo Jobs Center Disability Resource Fair

The National Disability Awareness Month is a national campaign led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities. This campaign is held each October and, in honor of this nationwide event, the Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) program will be hosting the first Disability Resource Fair on October 26, 2017 at the Verdugo Jobs Center.

The event will start with a seminar on both the Medicare and Medi-Cal programs to be presented by the Center for Health Care Rights. A total of 20 community providers have confirmed their support and participation to promote their respective programs and various resources catered to the disabled population. The Glendale Housing Department, Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), Disability Rights California (DRC), Social Security Administration (SSA), State Council on Developmental Disabilities, Center for Health Care Rights (CHCR), Internal revenue Services (IRS), Ascencia Housing Services, and more will be at the event.
