Meet Nancy Raines Day, author of What in the World?: Numbers in Nature and enjoy a reading of her newest title. Afterwards stay to make a craft.

Nancy Raines Day says, "Growing up, I spent many hours playing in the woods with my sisters, brother, and dog Puppy. We had our own town, Green Meadows, where I published a newspaper written on leaves with "ink" from squished berries and charged 25 cents in hickory nut money.

My family was not surprised when I decided to become a writer."

Verdugo Park, Saturday, October 10, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Enjoy a fun-filled walk around the K-9 Event in Verdugo Park and celebrate the launch of the newest StoryWalk. This year’s book is Puddle Pug by Kim Norman with illustrations by Keika Yamaguchi. Read along with the story as you stroll through the park. Stop by the library table for crafts and to meet artist Keika Yamaguchi from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Enjoy more StoryWalks! Visit the Central Library and the Pacific Park Community Center from November 2 through December 31, 2015. All ages.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
