BEYOND THE BOX: A Utility Box Mural Program
Accepting Artist Submissions
The City of Glendale Arts and Culture Commission has designed a program to support public art programs and to enhance the community and neighborhoods through the use of murals.
The Arts and Culture Commission will partner with The Big Draw LA on Saturday, October 25 to assist selected artists to create murals on 11 utility boxes in Montrose, California.
This project is open to all local and regional artists.
Applications are due September 12, 2014.

Art, Music & Beyond!
In the midst of the City of Glendale's verdant Brand Park sits Brand Library & Art Center, the art and music section of the Library, Arts & Culture Department. This cultural resource serves an ever-widening public interested in the arts, and is a unique destination for art, music and beyond.
Facilities at Brand Library & Art Center include an Art and Music Library, Art Galleries and Recital Hall. Activities in the Center's Art Studios are programmed by the Community Services and Parks Department.
Brand Library is staffed by subject specialist librarians and has over 110,000 items, including books, scores, DVDs, CDs, LPs, and magazines.
Brand Library & Art Center sponsors many events that are free and open to the public including art exhibitions, concerts, art & music lectures, dance events, films, computer classes, children's events and library tours.
In 1956 Brand Library & Art Center opened to the public in Miradero, the beautiful home of Glendale pioneer Leslie C. Brand, and has been serving music and art lovers from across Southern California ever since.

A UNIQUE EVENT DESTINATION
Special event rentals of the Galleries and the Plaza or filming at Brand Library will be considered on a case-by-case basis starting in July 2015. Call 818-548-2051 for more information.
BRAND PARK & STUDIOS

SUPPORT BRAND LIBRARY & ART CENTER
The Brand Associates is a volunteer organization that supports and promotes the Brand Library & Art Center as an arts, cultural, educational, and historic resource for the region.
