Verdugo Job Center Connecting Tech Employers with Employees during Glendale Tech Week

Glendale, CAThe Verdugo Job Center will be hosting its 2nd Annual Tech Job Fair at the newly renovated Downtown Central Library on October 12, 2017 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This event provides a platform for companies to interview and hire technologically skilled job seekers. Admission is free and provides attendees with access to over 18 local businesses and resource organizations and 180 positions, with even more to be announced.

Attendees can look forward to speaking with companies such as Edison, LegalZoom, Data Direct Network, Sada Systems, and Entertainment Partners who are seeking job applicants for a variety of positions including Senior Analyst, Software Engineer, Systems Administrator, and more. The Tech Job Fair aims to support the growing need for a skilled tech workforce in Glendale. The effort to provide strategic networking and educational opportunities is part of the larger Glendale Tech Week taking place that week of October 9. Glendale Tech Week is a public/private partnership between the Economic Development Division of the City of Glendale and a number of private and non-profit institutions to bring together the talent and companies located in Glendale and the Greater Los Angeles area to strengthen the local tech ecosystem. Glendale is already home to 40,000 tech jobs and 1,049 tech companies and is looking to grow this robust sector with even more talent and opportunity.

The VJC is a proud partner of America’s Jobs Center of California and is administered by the Verdugo Workforce Development Board (VWDB). The VWDB is a dynamic mix of stakeholders who are invested in the economic vibrancy of the Burbank, Glendale and La Cañada Flintridge areas.  Local business leaders, community organizers, and administrators in the education, labor and government sectors meet monthly to drive initiatives that leverage resources and build partnerships at the local, regional and State level.  These strategic partnerships ensure that those within VWDB’s service area and beyond benefit from programs that assist businesses grow while building a robust workforce.
