LA TUNA FIRE UPDATE

INCIDENT FACT SHEET: SEPTEMBER 2, 2017, 8:00 PM

CAUSE: Under Investigation                     CONTAINMENT: 10%

FREEWAY CLOSURES: 210 East closed at Wheatland and reopens at Lowell, 210 West closed at 2 freeway and reopens at Osborne.

WEATHER: Saturday Night- Partly Cloudy w/ a low around 80.  Southeast wind 5-10 mph.

GLENDALE: Glenwood Oaks Area- End of Boston Ave.- El Lado Dr., Cedarbend Dr., Tanbark Place, Ferntree Place, Beechglen Dr.; New York Ave. Area, Mountain Oaks Parks, Celita Way, Kadletz Rd.

BURBANK: Brace Canyon, Havenway, Viewcrest, Rolling Ridge, Reynolds, Mystic, Remy, Only Above Brace Canyon Park, Joaquin between Havenway and Brace Canyon, Lamer from Brace to Wedgewood Hamlin to Groton down to Kenneth- EFFECTIVE 10PM, ALL EVACUATIONS LIFTED IN BURBANK ONLY

CITIZEN/FF INJURIES: 2 Firefighters, both transported for dehydration and in stable condition.

LAFD Helicopter Incident:

During Firefighting operations at the La Tuna Fire on the afternoon of Saturday, September 2, LAFD helicopter Fire 4 made a precautionary landing on the football field at Verdugo Hills High School. There were no injuries to LAFD members or anyone on the ground. The helicopter will be transported via ground on Sunday back to LAFD air operations for a thorough inspection for damage.
