The 34th Annual National Night Out will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. National Night Out is a community-driven event where neighbors get to know each other and share concerns, strategies and ideas for safer communities.
National Night Out 2016 involved over 38 million people in over 16,000 communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.
The Glendale Police Department partners with event hosts to coordinate and plan the events. While the traditional “lights on” and front porch vigils remain a part of National Night Out, activities have expanded to include block parties, pot lucks, cookouts, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities, and parades.
The Glendale Police Department, the Glendale Fire Department, members of the Glendale City Council and City officials will visit these events to hear concerns, ideas, and explore how they might work together to improve the safety of their neighborhoods.
You do not have to be a current Neighborhood Watch neighborhood to participate. National Night Out is for everyone!
