Glendale, CA. – Glendale Police Department Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a group of suspects involved in a grand theft from a Montrose jewelry store.

On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at approximately 6:15 p.m., a distraction grand theft occurred at Honolulu Jewelers located at 2250 Honolulu Avenue.  Suspect #3 and Suspect #5 approached the store owner as he was closing and asked if they could make a quick purchase.  The store owner agreed and the six suspects entered the store. One female made a small cash purchase while the other suspects adamantly asked to try on or look at other pieces of jewelry.  While the store employees were distracted tending to all of the requests, Suspect #1 snuck behind the counter and removed a large amount of jewelry from the open safe, hiding the items in a hidden pocket of her skirt. The suspect left when confronted by an employee and was quickly followed out by the remaining suspects. The suspects were last seen running southbound on Market Street and then eastbound in the alley south of Honolulu.

The suspects were described by witnesses as the following:

S#1: Female, 30-35 years old, long black hair and wearing long black skirt

S#2: Male, 28-32 years old, heavy build, black goatee and wearing a camouflage floppy hat

S#5: Female, 20-25 years old, long black hair and thin build

S#6: Female, 20-25 years old, thin build and wearing a maroon headscarf with sparkles

All suspects spoke with an unknown accent.
