Annual Candlelight Vigil
- Date: 10/05/2017 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The City of Glendale’s Commission on the Status of the Women and the YWCA of Glendale would like to invite you to their Annual Candlelight Vigil on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the YWCA of Glendale, located at 735 E. Lexington Drive, Glendale, CA 91206.
This year’s event will focus on voices against violence, an evening of remembrance and celebration to honor those who have lost their lives to domestic violence, as well as to lift up the voices of survivors. There will be light snacks, speakers, a peace vigil for hope and safety, and other community organizations there to promote healthy and safe communities and homes.
The event will also feature a Clothesline Project to spread awareness of violence against women. Survivors touched by violence express their emotions by painting messages on t-shirts. As testimony to the problem, the t-shirts are prominently displayed across a clothesline, for supporters to view. More information can be found here.
